Take Action for Sudan

Get informed, agitate and petition, lobby your representatives, learn the facts, sign up to support a Darfur School, join our faith program, tell Secretary of State Clinton now is the time to act, and Blog,Twitter and network for change.

  1. Join the movement
    End the genocide in Darfur. Sign up for updates from the Enough Project, Save Darfur Coalition,& STAND, and the Genocide Intervention Network.
  2. Add your voice
    Sign our petition to have your voice counted: Add your voice to the thousands who have already signed postcards asking President Obama to keep his promise of “unstinting resolve” to end the genocide in Darfur by continuing to make Darfur a priority from day one of his presidency.
     
  3. Call and write President Obama and your elected officials
    Urge them to name and fund the creation of a senior special envoy to Sudan to establish sustained high-level commitment to ending the conflict Darfur.  Call 1-800-GENOCIDE. For more information about this important and easy-to-use hotline, visit www.1800genocide.com/call-the-president
     
  4. Research your elected officials' grade on Darfur
    Visit www.DarfurScores.org. Contact your representatives to tell them that they can do more and thank them for action they have already taken.
  5. Learn about Darfur in your classroom
    Request your teachers to use the teaching units developed by Facing History and Ourselves and the Enough Project for the book Not On Our Watch and the movie Darfur Now.
  6. Join the Darfur Dream Team
    Sign up for updates from Enough's Sister Schools Program. The initiative aims to connect American middle schools, high schools, colleges, and universities with sister schools in Darfuri 12 refugee camps in Chad.
  7. Make your school a sister school
    If you are interested in getting your school involved in the Sister Schools Program, ask your teacher to get in touch with Stella Kojo Kenyi, our Sister Schools Program Coordinator.
  8. Read the Christian Companion at your church
    Here is a Bible study resource that your church might be interested in that accompanies Not On Our Watch by John Prendergast and Don Cheadle.The Companion provides biblical reflections on the movement to end genocide in Darfur and beyond.
  9. Write to Secretary Clinton
    Write to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton asking her to highlight Sudan as a critical priority and to develop plans now so the Obama Administration can end the crisis without delay.
  10. Network for change
    Blog, Twitter and social network about what's happening in Darfur. Spread the word to family and friends about what they can do to end the conflict.
