Christian Church Network Broadcast with Enough Project

This Sunday, March 29th, Enough is partnering with the Church Communication Network to host a broadcast about the humanitarian crisis in Darfur and highlight new methods of advocacy by church communities. The satellite broadcast of “Not on Our Watch” is based off the Not on Our Watch Christian Companion: Bible Reflections on the Movement to End Genocide and in Darfur, a biblical companion to the bestselling book, Not on Our Watch, by actor Don Cheadle and John Prendergast, co-founder of Enough.

The live broadcast on March 29 at 6:00pm will take place at over 90 host sites across the country and feature a combination of talks by prominent religious leaders and prominent Sudanese advocates to educate and connect churches, fellowships, and individuals to the global Christian movement to end genocide and crimes against humanity in Darfur. The event is being co-hosted by John Prendergast and Michael Slaughter, a well-known Darfur advocate and senior pastor at Ginghamsburg United Methodist Church in Ohio. Joining the broadcast will be Suzette Caldwell, president of the Prayer Institute, and Enough’s Omer Ismail. All will offer their perspective and expertise on how Christians can effectively participate in the movement for Sudan. The broadcast will also feature video feeds from several Christian experts discussing the role of human rights advocacy in a theological context.

We hope this event will help spark a renewed effort to reach out across the country and provide a better understanding of why people of faith should become engaged in Darfur. We hope that this broadcast will reach people who have never heard about the realities of life in Sudan, while encouraging those involved in the movement to continue the fight for peace in Darfur.
