Robin Wright Talks Conflict Minerals on 'Chelsea Lately'
Actress and Raise Hope for Congo activist Robin Wright dropped by the E! Network's popular late-night show "Chelsea Lately" to talk about her latest film "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," the holidays, and the mineral-fueled conflict in eastern Congo.
Congo discussion begins at 3:00. Viewer discretion advised.
In the segment, Wright explains she "got involved in this cause because the minerals that are in our gadgets that we use everyday-- our iPhones, our toasters, our computers-- have [minerals] that come from the Congo and every 48 minutes a woman is being raped in and around these mines."
Wright encourages viewers to speak up for the people of eastern Congo and pressure Apple to make a product with conflict-free minerals.
This past summer, Wright traveled to eastern Congo with the Enough Project's Raise Hope for Congo team. Read her trip diary here.
