Tracking the LRA: There’s an App for That

Posted by Carine Umuhumuza on November 17, 2011

In September, our friends at Resolve and Invisible Children partnered to launch the LRA Crisis Tracker, an online resource that documents the real-time activities of the Lord’s Resistance Army. The first of its kind, the tracker is a comprehensive data platform that gives users access to a public map of LRA atrocities in the world, in-depth analytical reports of LRA Crisis Tracker data, videos with survivor testimony, and a live Twitter feed of LRA activity.

Now, the online tool is available on-the-go. Starting this month, the LRA Crisis Tracker App, will be available to download for free through the iTunes app store. The iPhone app includes several key features of the LRA tracker website, including a map of reported attacks, a feed of the latest incidents, and a calculator of damage committed by the LRA with coverage since December 2009.

Rapid response to the atrocities committed by the LRA is a key element in this app’s design, and with information literally at our fingertips, it is up to users to take action.

Head to the iTunes app store now and download the app to stay up to date on the LRA activities.
