En Avant Congo

The Washington-D.C.-based 501(c)3 non-profit En Avant Congo (“Forward, Congo”) was formed in 2003 by a group of Congolese and Americans to promote U.S. civic engagement in ending the conflict in D.R. Congo and funding services for survivors of mass rape by combatants. The group supports Centre Olame, a model institution providing services for survivors in Bukavu, South Kivu – the heart of Eastern Congo’s warzone.

Asian Pacific Islander Domestic Violence Resource Project

DVRP’s mission is to address and prevent domestic violence in Asian/Pacific Islander communities in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, including South Asian communities. DVRP’s goals include ensuring that abused A/PI women have access to culturally and linguistically responsive resources in order to make their own life choices; raising awareness about the problem of domestic violence; and uniting A/PI communities against domestic violence.
