The George Washington University Program Board, FotoDC, and ART WORKS Projects present the launch of "HORN OF AFRICA," an international, multi-media exhibition of projected images, words and music designed to shed light on the humanitarian crisis in eastern Africa.
The event will begin with a panel discussion from 5:30 - 6:30 in Funger Hall, Room 108.
The panel will include:
Halima Barqadle, RN, BSN, Volunteer nurse with the American Refugee Committee
John Prendergast, Co-Founder, Enough Project
Ambassador David Shinn, George Washington University Elliott School of International Affairs
The panel will begin with a presentation on the humanitarian issues and be followed by a discussion of strategies for solutions to this and future food insecurity challenges in the region.
The panel will be followed at 6:45 -7:45 in Kogan Plaza with photographic projections of images from the region and a live concert performance.
The event is open to the public.
