Enough Project To Host Javier Bardem Documentary Screening

The Enough Project and Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men; Vicky Cristina Barcelona) present the acclaimed film Invisibles at the Tribeca Cinemas on Monday, September 8th beginning at 6:15pm. The film will also be screened at Union Station in Washington, D.C. September 10th, beginning at 6:15pm. The screenings will be preceded by a reception and panel discussion with Mr. Bardem concerning the Congo crisis. The film’s vignette on Congo is one in a series of five short documentary and fiction stories from acclaimed directors, produced by Mr. Bardem, about the world’s most underreported crises.

Mr. Bardem will be joined by Dr. Roger Luhiriri, a physician from Panzi Hospital in the Democratic Republic of Congo; Dayle Haddon, author and UNICEF Ambassador; John Prendergast, Enough Co-chair; Candice Knezevic, Enough Congo Campaign Manager; and Rebecca Feeley, Enough Congo-based researcher, to discuss one of the film’s subjects: extreme violence against women in the Congo. Wim Wenders (Wings of Desire, Buena Vista Social Club), one of the five directors of Invisibles, turns his lens on the women of the Democratic Republic of Congo, where the decade-long conflict has led to sexual violence on a scale seen nowhere else in the world. Other vignettes within the film tell stories of displaced people in Colombia, child soldiers in Uganda, and other forgotten crises around the globe. Mariano Barroso, Isabel Coixet, Fernando Leon de Arano and Javier Corcuera round out the line-up of directors in the film. Javier Bardem and John Prendergast of the Enough Project will be available for interviews on the days of the screenings in both New York City and Washington, D.C.
