Despite the Congo's recent elections, the country's East has plunged into some of the worst violence of recent years. Over 100,000 people have been displaced and dozens killed as the population is stuck in the crossfire between the two abusive forces. The main challenges are neutralizing the militias and creating an army that respects human rights.
