Get Local Press
In addition to getting media coverage of your local events, you can also write a short (600 to 700 words) opinion piece for your campus or town newspaper. Your op-ed will help to raise awareness about the genocide in Darfur and the crimes against humanity in Eastern Congo, northern Uganda and Chad. Check out out the criteria major newspapers use for their op-ed submissions.
Write to the New York Times editor.
Write to the Washington Post editor.

Getting your message in the media will also urge those around you to take action to stop the violence. Find your local media outlets by clicking here and check out our partner’s guides in help getting local media coverage: STAND’s Media Resources page.
