Join the RAISE Hope for Congo campaign to protect and empower Congolese women and girls by signing up. Watch this slide show to learn more about survivors of the brutal conflict.

 
2. Sign our petition to the President

Have your voice counted by signing RAISE Hope for Congo’s petition to President-Elect Obama, asking him to announce his administration’s initial plan to end the scourge of violence against women and girls in eastern Congo on International Women’s Day on March 8, 2009.
 

 3. Ask your elected officials to act

Call or write to your Representative and Senators. Ask them to urge the Bush Administration to take immediate steps to prevent the already catastrophic situation in eastern Congo from spiraling further out of control. Call the White House switchboard at 202-456-1414. Here is a sample script.
 

 4. Join the 16 Days of Activism to Help Protect Women and Girls in Eastern Congo.

 5. Raise awareness about Congo
Sponsor a teach-in in your classroom, community center, or place of worship; Start a RAISE Hope for Congo book club or Host a screening of the “The Greatest Silence” or “Lumo.

 

6. Support our Congolese partner organizations

Support local Congolese organizations responding to the crisis: Heal Africa and Panzi Hospital.

 
7. Host a Run for Congo Women

Run for Congo Women is a grassroots run or walk or bike or swim or bake or pray fundraiser for Women for Women International's Congo Program.
